Modified polycarbonate (PC) compounds from KUMHO SUNNY PLASTICS.

1. Halogen-Free Flame Retardant PC — 2502NH / 2506NH / 2507NH

Features

• UL94 V-0 at 1.5 mm, halogen free, available in all colors
• GWFI 850 °C at 1.5 mm — meets glow-wire requirements for unattended appliance enclosures
• Retains the stiffness, heat resistance and transparency-grade base properties of PC
• Platform series — the base for hydrolysis-resistant, low-temperature, S.2, high-efficiency and PFAS-free derivatives

Applications Charging pile and charging gun housings, appliance electrical control boxes, power supplies and adapters, battery pack components, telecom and IT enclosures.

2. Low-Temperature, Ultra-High-Heat Flame Retardant PC — 2503NH

Features

• UL94 V-0 at 0.8–1.5 mm and 5VA at 3.0 mm — one of the highest FR ratings available in unfilled PC
• −40 °C impact retention above 80 % — survives cold-climate drop and shock loading
• Ultra-high heat resistance, HDT > 140 °C
• Halogen free with low plate-out — no mold deposit over long production runs
• High weatherability for outdoor service

Applications Outdoor power supplies, charging piles and charging guns, cold-climate energy storage enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, EV components.

3. Damp-Heat / Hydrolysis Resistant Flame Retardant PC — 2502NH-HA25

Features

• Mechanical property retention above 80 % after 1000 h at 85 °C / 85 % RH, where neat PC and conventional FR PC lose impact strength sharply
• Root cause addressed at the formulation level: PC ester linkages are sensitive to heat and moisture, and unsuitable additives (especially metal ions) accelerate hydrolysis — this grade eliminates both pathways
• High weatherability: 1000 h UVA, ΔE < 2
• HDT > 120 °C, UL94 V-0 at 1.6 mm, halogen free
• Typical properties: density 1.19 g/cm³, tensile strength 60 MPa, flexural strength 68 MPa, flexural modulus 2100 MPa, notched Izod 720 J/m, HDT 132 °C
• Excellent recyclability

Applications Outdoor power supply enclosures, charging pile housings, energy storage systems, tropical- and coastal-climate equipment, outdoor security devices.

4. High Molding Efficiency Flame Retardant PC — 2502NH-HME / 2501FR-HME / N850

Features

• Total molding cycle reduced by 3–10 s through fast melting, shear thinning, fast cooling and optimized demolding — with no change to base material properties
• Measured cycle: 25.8 s versus 29.0–31.0 s for competitor FR PC under identical conditions (barrel 310/315/315 °C, mold 110 °C) — a 13.5 % output increase
• Practical impact: the same annual volume needs 595 machines instead of 650, cutting roughly RMB 5 million per year in capital and running cost
• 2502NH-HME: V-0 at 1.5 mm, GWFI 850 °C at 1.5 mm, halogen free, all colors
• 2501FR-HME: V-0 at 1.5 mm, GWFI 960 °C at 1.5 mm, halogenated system
• N850: V-2 at 1–1.5 mm, GWIT 850 °C at 1 mm, halogen free

Applications High-volume appliance and consumer electronics housings, sockets and wiring accessories, power adapters, any program where cycle time or plant capacity is the constraint.

5. Needle-Flame (S.2) Compliant PC — 2502NH-NFS2 / F8020(S2)

Features

• UL94 V-0 and needle-flame S.2 at 1.5 mm (60 s flame application) — most fireproof housing materials on the market fail S.2 even at 3.0 mm thickness
• 2502NH-NFS2: hydrolysis resistant, halogen free
• F8020(S2): high heat resistance version, S.2 at 1.5 mm, halogen free
• Enables thinner fire enclosures without mica sheets, aerogel layers or fireproof coatings

Applications Fire enclosures under IEC/EN 60335, appliance control boxes, HVAC controllers, EU-market appliance and power equipment housings.

6. PFAS-Free & Halogen-Free Flame Retardant PC — 2502NH-FF / F8050(T)

Features

• 0 ppm PFAS — proprietary fluorine-free anti-dripping technology replaces PTFE (typically 2000–8000 ppm PFAS in conventional FR compounds)
• Equivalent anti-dripping and V-0 performance, with better processability, higher surface gloss and improved cracking resistance than PTFE-based systems
• 2502NH-FF: V-0 at 1.5 mm, RTI 80 °C, all colors
• F8050(T): transparent PFAS-free FR PC — V-0 at 1.5 mm, RTI 80 °C, light transmittance 86.9 % and haze 2.86 % at 2.2 mm
• Compliant with EU REACH PFAS restriction proposals and US state legislation (Maine, Minnesota HF2310, California SB 903)

Applications Digital sockets and wiring devices, wall routers and networking equipment, printer housings, lighting covers and light guides, consumer electronics for the EU and US markets.

7. High-Flow, Chemical Resistant Transparent PC — T5300T

Features

• High flow: MFR 20 g/10 min at 260 °C / 5 kg — fills long, thin and complex transparent parts that standard PC cannot
• Chemical resistance far superior to standard PC — withstands household detergents and cleaning agents that cause stress cracking in neat PC
• High light transmittance: 85 % at 3 mm
• Retains PC toughness and heat resistance

Applications Dirty-water and clean-water tanks, humidifier and dehumidifier reservoirs, transparent covers and lenses, small appliance transparent housings, water-contact appliance parts.

8. Weatherable Flame Retardant PC and PC+GF — 2510NH / 2510FR

Features

• Combined flame retardancy and outdoor UV weatherability in one grade
• 2510FR (glass-fiber reinforced): high rigidity and dimensional stability for structural outdoor housings
• 2510NH (unfilled): high gloss surface for decorative outdoor parts
• Eliminates the paint or hard-coat step on outdoor FR housings

Applications Security camera housings and sun shrouds, lens decorative rings, outdoor sensors, alarm and detector enclosures, intercom and access control devices.

9. IR-Transmitting Black PC — N840

Features

• Optically black to the human eye but transparent to infrared — enables hidden sensors behind a seamless dark surface
• Consistent IR transmittance batch to batch for stable sensing performance
• Good moldability for thin lens covers and protective sheets

Applications Camera and sensor lens protection sheets, IR remote windows, proximity and gesture sensor covers, smart home devices, security equipment.

10. High Gloss PC

Features

• High gloss white with L value above 94
• Piano black with 20° gloss above 98 — a mirror finish straight from the mold
• Spray-free, removing the painting step and its VOC emissions
• Stable color and gloss across large panel areas

Applications Split air conditioner front panels, appliance decorative panels, display bezels, consumer electronics trim.

11. High Gloss Spray-Free PC+GF

Features

• Low warpage with no floating fiber — glass reinforcement without the surface defects that normally force a painting step
• High rigidity and dimensional stability for large thin panels
• High gloss surface directly from the mold, eliminating spray coating

Applications Air conditioner inner air deflectors and louvers, large appliance structural panels, display and TV frames, structural housings requiring both stiffness and appearance.
